 Good afternoon parents, I hope you are having a good day, some of us are praying for a day off tomorrow, some of us are praying for a work day tomorrow. Which one are you?  Dear parents, Today's spelling quiz was an upgrade, the students had to write the words that I said. However, I broke the words up into phonics and scrambled them. This way the students can learn to write words by using their phonics skills. Dear parents, Today I began the class by discussing the students' homework. I reminded them that they need to read the instuctions to avoid mistakes in their homework. Some students just follow the patterns and assume that the homework is the same as before. Tomorrow we will have a spelling quiz, and it will be harder than before. They will need to write the words that I say. This time, the words won't be shown to them. The quiz will be based on the vocabulary words from week8.  Dear parents, Today we went over vocabulary 10 vocabulary words 8-14. Then we proceeded to read the unit story. We then discussed about what makes a blizzard an blizzard. Dear parents,  Today we reviewed vocabulary words from previous lessons and made 5 sentences with them. Students are more involved when creating sentences in class. We also went over 3 steps that we should take when there is a blizzard or tornado. We discussed what we should do first, next, and last. Dear parents, Today we went over the spelling quiz and previous homework in class first. If the students did not finish their correction, they can do it at home. In class we went over week 10 vocabulary words due to week 9 being review week for the exams. Grade 1 students do not have exams yet so they won't have to worry. We also listened and read the other half of the story "Blizzard Action Plan", and discussed how to prepare for it. For homework Part A, students will need to rewrite the sentence correctly.  Dear parents, Today we had a very busy day due to the typhoon, therefore I will cut it short. In class we reviewed the previous vocabulary words and went through 11-14. Then we all read aloud our story, "Poetry Collection". Most students can read the story very well. We completed the next few pages which focused on the short A sound and finding words that rhyme.
